Youth Groups

To provide another Caring Consistent Adult who shows positive Christian support throughout middle school and high school to each and every youth.

- Christian support includes creating an environment to grow in faith.

-Consistent means doing our best to 'show up' in the youth's life as much a possible.

- We are here to support parents.

Middle School

Our middle school youth group for students in the 6th grade through 8th grade. We currently meet on Sunday nights from 4:30pm - 6:00pm. For those not comfortable meeting in person, we also have middle school youth group / hangout time over Zoom from 4:00pm-5:00pm on Thursday evenings.

Middle School Retreat

The middle school students went to their winter camp at Hume Lake January 31st - February 2nd, 2020.

How to Get Involved?

There are many different way you can help out with both or either Middle and High school. If you are interested, please email David Mink for more details.
  • Drivers: Need parents willing to drive kids to various events throughout the year.
  • Dinners: Please sign up to provide dinner for the full youth group.
  • Adult Leaders: We are always looking for adults who love Jesus, like kids, and want to be a part of helping them grow with Christ.
  • Student Leadership Team: This is for all interested High School students.

High School

Jamaa, which means "the family you choose", is our high school youth group for students in the 9th grade through graduating seniors.
We currently meet every Sunday at 6pm for regular youth group. We also meet each Thursday at 5pm for “Hang Out Time With David” over Zoom.

Confirmation Class

This class helps teens who are considering church membership solidify their understanding of the Christian faith and what it means to join the congregation. After completing this class, teens prepare and present statements of faith to PCN’s Elders before being formally admitted to the church. The class is held in alternate years to ensure enough participants based on youth attendance and interest. Confirmation class is led by one teaching elder and one ruling elder.

The high school students had a successful retreat Hume Lake February 21st - 23rd, 2020.

Youth Activities

PCN Youth on Facebook

The go-to place to get weekly updates on our youth programs and events. Be sure to follow us so that you can receive regular updates.

Social Activities

Fun activities are spread out throughout the year. We have had pool parties, an adventure at a corn maze, Christmas parties, a trip to the Marin County Fair, a messy games night, movie nights, and caroling to homebound church members. These social activities are a great opportunity to grow our youth group community by inviting friends to come and have fun.

Mission Activities

Our middle through high school youth programs help our youth grow in their faith through service to others. Both middle and high schoolers are involved in several annual fund-raising events, such as Rise Against Hunger and the 30-Hour Famine. The youth group also tries to do at least one service project per month. In November we participated in Operation Christmas Child and this December we are collecting gifts for the 2020 Holiday Share. Our high schoolers are challenged to put their faith into action by participating in annual mission trips where they may repair or rebuild homes for needy families or help with other vital service projects. The 2020 Mission Trip remained local and assisted with single day service projects for Westminster Woods, Gilead House, Redwood Empire Food, Bank, the local church, and North Marin Community Services.

Parent Information Nights /Open House

Each Fall, PCN hosts a Youth and Children’s Ministry Open House. In 2019 this featured guest speaker Andrew Weiher, a Behaviorist for Novato Union School District. Parents, staff, and teaching volunteers attended both the main speaker session and a follow-up discussion session. The last 2 years have been a little different, we had our Open House via Zoom.  Click HERE to watch a recording of Open House 2020 and click HERE for a recording of Open House 2021.

TWIG: Trusting Wholly in God

Every year, P.C.N.'s youth program, JAMAA, puts on a weekend-long, student-led retreat for high schoolers called L.O.G. (Love of God). This year due to COVID restrictions and safety protocols, we will be hosting T.W.I.G. (Trusting Wholly in God) on February 27th. This retreat will be led by Dylan Eshoff and Wyatt Kinney with the help of the Youth Leadership Team. Prepare for a full day of worship, praise, and growing in your relationship with God and one another!
