Nursery Caregiver

Hi, I'm Penny Kuroki. I am a Nursery Caregiver. I have been part of this church since 2020, a couple of months after COVID had just started, and I joined the staff in 2025. 

I am a Nursery Caregiver. In this role, I work with young children and their families to create a trusting space where kids can learn about God and all he does for them. I also often teach important life skills to kids ages 0 to 5. I do this through Sunday School and Grace Generation.

I am very happy to work with such great people who inspire me to help expand the worlds these children live in. I hope to learn more about what God does to enrich these children's lives in their daily life. This job has given me so many great ideas and support as I learn how to help. I love coming in after a long day and having the children run up to me for hugs, which fills my heart so much. 

My family and I originally came because my grandma attended regularly, and I had attended VBS for years. We came to a church service and ended up loving the people and the atmosphere that the church gave us. My Sunday school teachers always call you to do things, and God told me to get into children’s ministry. Now I help with children’s ministry in many ways.

Some fun facts about me: I am a high school student in Petaluma. When I am not at school, I often hang out with my friends, thrift clothes, or walk around downtown. I am also taking ASL to learn how to communicate with more people.
