Great Courses Biblical History and Archaeology Class

PCN elder Walt Campbell will lead a Bible History and Archaeology” video lecture and discussion group, using a Great Courses video lecture series on the influence of other ancient Mediterranean cultures on Judeo-Christian thought and Biblical texts . The class format consists of two thirty minute lectures followed by up to thirty minutes of discussion. We will have twelve weekly Saturday morning 90 minute (10:30Am to Noon) Zoom sessions beginning February 22, 2025 and finishing May 10, 2025. The course is open to non-PCN members. A small donation towards the cost of course materials is suggested. PCN members or non-members can register by contacting the course leader by email, text or phone. Participants will receive a course guide and access to credentials to stream any lectures they miss. The lecturer is Dr. Jeanne-Pierre Disbouts of Fielding Graduate University. The videos are co-produced by National Geographic and The Great Courses. There are no exams, papers, or grades. Just log on to Zoom, make some new friends, and learn about the cultural context in which the Bible was written, from the creation accounts of Genesis to the spread of Christianity through the Roman empire.
