Christian Education committee is sponsoring a new Spring-Summer 2024 adult learning opportunity:

“The Dead Sea Scrolls” is a series of twenty-four video lectures that are free via Zoom and present the discovery, translation, and significance of ancient scrolls found at Qumran in 1947.  The Teaching Company produces videos as part of its “Great Courses” series, which features Dr. Gary Rendsburg, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Jewish Studies at Rutgers University.   The scrolls shed light on Jewish culture and theology at the time of Christ and raise issues about the transmittal of the Biblical record across time.

Weekly sessions will cover two thirty-one lectures and discussions led by Walt Campbell.
Participants will receive a weekly email with a PDF of the course guide pages and discussion questions for the upcoming Saturday session.

We will have weekly Saturday morning 90-minute (10:30 Am to Noon) Zoom sessions beginning March 23, 2024, and finishing June 8, 2024. The course is free and open to non-PCN members.

PCN members or non-members can register by completing this form or by contacting the course leader by email, text, or phone: Walt Campbell, walterleecampbell@gmail.com, or (415) 497-5157.

Participants will receive a weekly email reminder with a Zoom link, a PDF document of relevant pages from the course study guide, and suggested discussion questions.
